Cassidy Whitlach Wins First Place Prize at LAPRD Livermore Idol Competition

Mendenhall Middle School 7th grader Cassidy Whitlach-Benson went home a winner November 18th from the Livermore Idol competition. The youngest competitor in the event, she took third place last year 2005 only to come back and win first place in 2006. Her prize was a $3900 scholarship to John Robert Powers Academy in San Ramon. She'll spend the next few months auditioning for agents, and taking classes at John Robert Powers to perfect her style, stage presence, and confidence. Cassidy's also takes private vocal lessons from Karen Davenport, a professional singer and pianist in Livermore. Cassidy also acquired musical training from 2 years at Cantabella Children's Choir in Livermore. She also receives daily training from the exceptional choir course at Mendenhall Middle School taught by Mrs. JoAnne Fosselman. Congratulations to Cassidy!
